Our standard sock yarn is made from this classic british wool noted for its softness and lustre. To ensure that it is provides a hardwearing base for socks the wool has been combined with nylon and spun with a high twist to make it extra sturdy
The high twist gives give an excellent stitch definition making this sock yarn also ideal for shawls and scarves.

Weight approx 367m(400yards) per 100g.
This fibre of this yarn superfine alpaca making it super soft and drapey. The yarn also has a delicate halo that helps emphasise how soft it is. While 'sock-weight' we wouldn't recommend it for sock knitting (with the possible exception of bed-socks) but is ideal for scarves, shawls, cowls or hats. As the yarn is pure alpaca the it dyes up with much softer tones than wool-based yarns.
